Garden Chef Series
Tantalize your taste buds and find delicious new ways to enjoy eating well when the Garden Chef Series resumes on Sunday afternoons this summer. Guest chefs and culinary experts from around the region will bring you new techniques and recipes at the Kansas City Power & Light Cooktop in the Missouri Barn. Most demonstrations will take place at 1:30 p.m.
Food Fest Series
As the season progresses, join us to celebrate the harvest of some of our favorite crops during our new series of food fests. The series includes: Berry Day, Sunday, June 20, which also happens to be Father's Day. The kid rock band The Doo-Dads will jam from 2 to 3 p.m. and we'll feature all kinds of delicious berries at our tasting stations.
The Sweet Corn Fest returns on Saturday, July 17, with the chance to sample and buy this summertime favorite.
On September 11 we celebrate America's favorite backyard crop and its favorite spicy companion during Tomato & Chile Pepper Fest. Sample a variety of tomatoes from basic red to striped to yellow-gold, buy a sack to take home, enjoy a chef's demonstration and pick up expert growing tips. Sweet, smoky, spicy or extra hot, this brightly colored Chile pepper is used to flavor dishes throughout the world. Taste as many as you dare and learn which varieties work best for salsa, hot sauce, barbecue, relishes and other condiments we can't live without.
Regular Garden admission applies for all of the food fests: $9.50/adults, $8.50/seniors, and $4/children 5-12; extra fees may apply for some activities.
