At Powell Gardens, we believe developing an appreciation for plants is a lifelong process. We invite you to attend one of our adult programs to deepen your affection for the natural world, learn a new skill, or enjoy a unique activity with a friend. Weekend, evening, and weekday classes and programs are offered year-round.
Gardening 101
Gardening 101 classes are great for all gardeners interested in establishing new or improving existing gardens. Powell Gardens staff members will share their expertise, take questions, and give a tour.
Garden to Glass
Garden to Glass classes are taught by rotating experts and include two drinks attendees make themselves, a short explanation of how the featured drink is made and its history, and a goodie bag featuring a Powell Gardens branded glass, ingredients for a future drink, or other fun items.
Horticulture Happy Hours
In these laid-back, hourlong classes, attendees will see a horticulture demonstration or presentation then enjoy a tour of Powell Gardens’ garden spaces as related to the subject matter. Attendees are served beer and wine and may receive a take-home item like a bulb, cutting, or tool.
Lunchtime Lectures
Lunchtime Lectures provide deep dives into plant and horticulture topics presented by industry experts.
Work & Learn
These programs allow participants to roll up their sleeves for a hands-on lesson in the Gardens with horticulture staff. Participants will go home with a new skill and occasionally a cutting or treat.
