Wednesday-Sunday | 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Included with general admission
Powell Gardens will highlight its conifer collection during Conifer Tips (April 30-May 11)! Conifers, or Coniferae, are a group of woody plants, made up mostly of evergreen trees and shrubs with leaves that are needle-like, though some are scaled. Perhaps their most well-known features are their cones, or pinecones.
All conifers produce cones, though they can vary greatly in appearance. Many conifers, especially spruce and firs, also produce ‘tips’ (their yearly new growth). These tips arrive in the late spring and fill our Conifer Garden with color and new life.
Make sure to visit Powell Gardens’ Conifer Garden, a certified American Conifer Society reference garden, during Conifer Tips (April 30-May 11) at Powell Gardens. A digital tour is available via Garden Explorer.
