Night of the Living Moth
Friday, July 17 | 8:30-10 p.m.
$15 | Discount for Powell Gardens members

Join Powell Gardens and WildHERness for a unique after-dark adventure into the world of moths, some of nature’s most important yet overlooked nighttime pollinators.

Take a guided hike to observe and learn about the mysterious lives of moths, their role in ecosystems, and the vital work they do while the rest of the world sleeps. Along the way, we’ll use lights and bait to attract a variety of species, discuss how to identify them, and explore how moths compare to their daytime counterparts, the butterflies.

Whether you’re a curious beginner or a seasoned naturalist, this hike offers a fascinating look at a hidden world that only comes to life after dark.

What to bring: A headlamp or flashlight with a red light option (to reduce disturbance), bug spray, and your sense of wonder.

Come be enchanted by the flutter of wings and the stories they tell in the stillness of night!

All participants must complete a 2026 Liability Event Waiver, located on the WildHERness website, to attend.
