*Powell Gardens is monitoring the latest information regarding the COVID-19 outbreak in the United States. Festival, event, and general hours may change as new information is available.
Head outside to encounter buds, blossoms, and bulbs during our inaugural springtime festival celebrating the landscape newly abloom! Enjoy a walk through the Gardens and greet some friendly new faces–a collection of custom-built planters in the form of monumental human heads! At six feet tall and with coifs uniquely planted and styled with colorful spring favorites, this artful installation will bring whimsy and fun to the joy of celebrating a fresh new season. Return visits will reward you, as more than 100,000 bulbs planted across the Gardens awake and join our panoramic symphony of blooms.
Enjoy children’s activities and additional events throughout the festival.
COVID-19 Frequently Asked Questions
As a proactive measure to protect the safety of our community and in response to the directions of officials in our area regarding the coronavirus outbreak, Powell Gardens has revised plans for Bloom Fest: Head Outside, including postponing the Missouri Life Market Fair to July 18 & 19.
While the horticulture and art installations planned for the festival will still be on view when we are able to reopen to the public, we will not be charging the increased festival admission for our visitors to enjoy the beauty of the new season.
Powell Gardens is currently closed, and will remain closed until further notice. We will alert visitors to our hours when it is safe to reopen. This may impact Bloom Fest dates.
Once this situation passes, we know it will be important to head outside and we’ll be more grateful than ever to gather with our friends and community. To that end, we will be happy to honor your Bloom Fest tickets at one of the three other seasonal festivals at Powell Gardens throughout the year or at the Missouri Life Market Fair.

You may also choose to turn your ticket purchase into a tax-deductible donation that ensures that Powell Gardens will remain a vibrant resource and haven for the Kansas City community when we make it through this challenging period.
Thanks to your support, we are able to take these proactive measures to help keep our local community safe while continuing to maintain the Gardens that will go on growing and changing with the seasons. Thank you!
