Powell Gardens’ staff is responsible for facilitating rental agreements and payments, providing bar setup and bar staffing, providing event security, providing a staff liaison for facility needs including existing AV.

Ceremony & Vow Renewal Pricing
Rental price covers 2 hours of use for setup, ceremony, and tear down of any decorations. Marjorie Powell Allen Chapel rentals provide dressing room use 2 hours prior to rental time with additional dressing room hours for purchase. Marjorie Powell Allen Chapel Saturday afternoon ceremony must be accompanied with a reception.

Ceremony & Reception Packages

Chapel Only Package
Rental Fee: $3,200
- You, your fiancé, wedding party, the officiant, and up to 140 guests.
- Includes the Chapel Study for dressing room before the ceremony for 2 hours.
- Includes the Chapel for 2 hours for ceremony and pictures.
- Saturday afternoon weddings are excluded from Chapel Only Package
- Sunday-Friday offers a discount based on the day of the week.
- Offer morning ceremony and afternoon ceremony options 7 days a week.

Ask about our Ceremony & Reception Buyout Package
This unique package permits you and your guests to enjoy all the beauty that Powell Gardens has to offer, being the only private event on the grounds for our evening time frames during your special day!
What does this mean? You will be the only wedding guests on the grounds starting at 1 p.m. getting ready at the Chapel Study, and the only ceremony held during the afternoon and the only reception on the grounds.
There are many venue options to choose from for a ceremony and reception venue. This package does not include bar packages.
Private Event Rental FAQs
No. In accordance with the liquor license issued to Powell Gardens through Johnson County, MO, clients are not allowed to provide their own alcohol during an event. Anyone not adhering to this policy will be asked to leave the premises.
Photographers, videographers, DJs, florists, wedding officiants, and event rental companies can be chosen at the discretion of the client. An additional fee will be charged for caterers who are not on our preferred list.
Powell Gardens does not offer decorating services. Clients are allowed to customize their event or ceremony with decorations and can install decorations themselves or hire a planner/wedding coordinator to add extra décor. All decorating must take place during the outlined rental time, be removed by the end of rental time, and must be approved by the Private Events Department at Powell Gardens. Nothing is to be tacked, pinned, nailed, glued, etc. on any surface in any event venue. Pew bows must be attached using pew bow hooks or ribbon only at Chapel. Any candles used as décor must be flameless.
