Under a Blue Moon Garden Party and Rare Plant Auction is drawing near. Little seedlings are planted and watered with care for our anticipated night out under the stars. We’ve staked the site, tasted the menu, ordered and sorted. We’ve been sharing with you the fun and fantastic Garden experiences and auction items you’ll have a chance to bid on. This edition focuses on a trifecta of signature Powell events, exclusive to this year’s auction.

First, we’ll be featuring a Bridal Package that will assist any future bride. The package will include a chapel rental, invitations from RSVP, photos from Studio Chere and hair and makeup from Skyline, Downtown Salon. Our coveted chapel and handy suggestions will make the daunting task easier, especially when working with the premiere vendors we’ve put together. We’re very excited to highlight this special location, sure to make that special day a breeze to plan and enjoy.

Our beautiful silo in the new Heartland Harvest Garden, high above our newest installation, is the lofty dinner destination only offered at Under a Blue Moon. In the quiet solitude of our Garden, you’ll enjoy an expertly prepared meal by our Executive Chef, Nick Jonjevic, chosen from foods grown and picked from within your view. You’ll love to watch the sun go down from your perch atop the tower.

Booms & Blooms, our Fourth of July weekend festival with spectacular fireworks display and music from the Lee’s Summit Symphony Orchestra, is always a special event. This year, we’ll be setting up a VIP tent with snacks and libations for you and eight friends. You can invite your favorite friends out to the garden for this exclusive party. You won’t want to miss stepping up your 4th of July weekend tradition or starting a new one.

Our Sponsorship Committee is still hard at work procuring items of all kinds. Excitedly, we are seeing a healthy list of items in all price points emerge. Our next edition of items will feature a Somerset Ridge Winery tour and dinner at nearby Casa Somerset and an exclusive dinner at the home of one of our Friends, with an emphasis on understanding and enjoying her collection of rare heirloom tomatoes.
