Jurassic Garden Roars to Life at Powell Gardens This Summer

KINGSVILLE, MO – Powell Gardens is going prehistoric this summer! From June 5 to September 28, guests of all ages are invited to step back in time for Jurassic Garden, an immersive botanical adventure featuring life-sized dinosaurs, ancient plants, and hands-on learning for the whole family.

This larger-than-life exhibition invites explorers to discover the fascinating relationship between plants and dinosaurs through a Garden-wide experience that blends education, wonder, and play.

“Jurassic Garden brings together our mission of botanical education and our passion for family-friendly fun,” said CEO Cody Jolliff. “It’s not just about dinosaurs—this is a celebration of the incredible plants that shaped our world and thrive today. We can’t wait to welcome you this summer!”

Exhibit Highlights

• Life-Sized Dinosaurs: The main attraction! Encounter towering prehistoric creatures throughout the Gardens—perfect for photo ops and dino-sized adventures.
• Hall of Prehistoric Plants: Learn how ferns, cycads, and other ancient plants played a vital role in Earth’s history. Located in the Visitor Center.
• Dino Discovery Lab: Hands-on, rotating activities for kids and families. Learn about paleontology, fossils, and plant science with fun and engaging activities.
• Dino Dig Zone: Young paleontologists can dig for fossils in this outdoor excavation zone, fostering exploration and imagination.
• Plant Science Lab: Dive deeper into botany with interactive exhibits that explore how plants evolved alongside dinosaurs.

All exhibit highlights are included with Jurassic Garden general admission.

You’re invited to the Jurassic Garden Grand Opening on Saturday, June 7 (9 a.m. – 5p.m.). This family-friendly celebration includes live music, dino-themed food, face painting, pop-up entertainment, vendors, and special presentations. It’s a full day of prehistoric fun, perfect for making summer memories together.
